Coastrider Beach Party - July 2007

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Hundreds of partygoers packed onto Torrevieja’s Naufragos beach on Saturday, dancing through the afternoon and well into the night at the first ever CoastRider and Sunshine FM summer beach party.
On a hot and sizzling day, crowds were treated to top local acts such as The Mix, The Playboys, Plan-B, and Debbie Slater. Bob Mauldon from the band, Freeway, kicked off the live show with God Save the Queen.
Crowd favourite, Nick Gold, gave a stunning performance of Nessun Dorma, following a guest appearance on stage by little Leah Webb and her dad, Dave. Some of the money raised from the beach party will go towards the Leah Webb fund, as well as children’s charity, APANEE and the Cruz Roja (Red Cross) Spain.

Organisers were delighted with the numbers of people who attended this charity event, and with everyone out to have a really good time, the atmosphere was very relaxed.
Presenters Duke Johnson and Andrew Marks warned people about the power of the sun, with one of the crew standing in front of the crowds to show how quickly the sun could burn.
Under the glare of an almost full moon, the party was brought to a close by The Blues Brothers who had everyone on their feet dancing.
People agreed the beach party had a real festival feel to it, loved the live acts who all gave brilliant performances, and were already looking forward to partying again in summer 2008.
