Hi-5 ProTour - La Sella February 2008
Spanish golfers showed sportsmen from 12 nations the way home as the Hi5 Pro Tour Nations Cup visited the Costa Blanca. In total, 23 pairs took part in a keenly fought competition at La Sella Golf Resort, Denia, between February 3rd and 7th.

However, the top three places were scooped by six Spanish golfers - winners Jordi Garcia del Moral and Carlos del Moral Barilari pocketing a 5,000 euro first prize after a 13 under par total of 203. Second place went to Carlos Aguilar Quesada and Carlos Garcia Simarro - the leading pair on the first day - with a nine under par, and four shots back third placed Pol Bech and Marc Perez Gelma. With players taking part from as far away as Canada and South Africa, as well as golfers from England, Ireland, Germany, Iceland and Scandinavia, the leading ‘foreign’ challengers were Danish pair Jan-Are Larson and Jeppe Huldahl, ending on four under.
SCORES
Organisers said the “superb scores belied La Sella’s reputation as one of the top five most difficult rated courses in the country.” The Hi5 Pro Golf Tour brings together professional players and top amateurs to compete over the winter while enjoying the mild Mediterranean climate, playing on highly rated courses, with first class practice facilities and championship tournament conditions. Certainly the tour enjoyed its stay at Denia and perfect conditions for the golfers - with blue skies and temperatures up to 20 degrees. The Hi5 Pro gold Tour continues at Val del Este, Almeria, Altorreal, and the Roda Golf and Beach Resort, Murcia, giving the players the chance to fight for the 180,000-euro prize fund. Meanwhile back at La Sella, members of staff are busy preparing the course for the opening of the 2008 Ladies European tour next month.
