Hi-5 ProTour - Mosa Trajectum February 2008
It is generally considered that being a very tall player finds it difficult to score well in very windy conditions.
Nearly 2 meters tall and as thin as a sapling, Patrick Niederdrenk did not bend in the blustering winds to take first place in the “ Hi5 ProTour Mosa Trajectum Classic “ in Murcia, Spain.

The competition was regrettably cut to a 36-hole event due to gales blowing the players of the course in day 2. But long hitting Patrick played through the wind and aided by a delicate putting touch on the excellent putting surfaces at Mosa, managed to hold the lead coming down the straight. Patrick picked up a winners check for 3500 euros and was closely followed in second place by three players 2 shots behind Barrie Trainor (Ire), Andrew Willey (Eng) and Tim Kempe (Ger).
Patrick finished on a creditable 6 under par after 2 rounds shooting 66 on day one followed with a level par 72 in the final round. Patrick was obviously delighted to secure another Professional win and complimented Mosa Trajectum (Key Resorts) on the course and in particular how great the greens were this week. He paid thanks to the Hi5 Pro Tour for staging the event and wished Hi5 ProTour every success in building a larger tour in 2009.The winner of the 2008 Hi5 Pro Tour order of merit is Eirek Tage Johansen (Nor) followed by Patrick Niederdrenk (Ger) and then Carlos Garcia Simarro (Sp), probably the most consistent player over the series.

The inaugural series has been a great success and thanks must go to all the Hi5 ProTour staff, Associated sponsors, The venues and of course all the Professional players that have supported the tour in year. All from Hi5 ProTour wish all the Pros a mega successful golfing year as they now wind their way onto their respective Tours for 2008. Plans are a foot to extend the series in 2009 to 9/10 events (Again localised in Spain). Please keep up to date with Hi5 ProTour news on www.Hi5protour.com. Once again good luck to all of the Pro’s for the coming season and don’t forget to give that Hi5 as often as possible!
